Andy and Melissa came to see us after they had purchased an apartment off the plan. Like all property purchases, there are pro’s and cons to purchasing property off the plan. For first home buyers one of the big benefits is the reduction stamp duty, plus the concession, plus as it is new residential you still get your first home owners grant.
Both Melissa and Andy had paid a deposit on the property and had done very well in saving further funds to contribute to the final purchase. Because they were both first home owners they were both entitled to stamp duty concessions and the first home owner grant. This meant that their loan was under 80% of the value of the property, providing them with a large number of options to choose from.
We narrowed down the lenders to three, in which then Andy and Melissa decided on a lender they felt most comfortable with. From there we lodged the application and kept in contact with both the clients and their solicitor until settlement. We feel privileged to have been a part of this exciting time for the both of them and look forward to working with them both in the future.
